Title: PET Studies of Sentence Comprehension
(R01 DC02146)
P.I.: David Caplan
Period of Support: 2/1/96 - 1/31/00
Description: The goal of this project is to investigate the neural
basis for syntactic processing in sentence comprehension by
identifying areas of increased regional cerebral blood flow in
subjects who process syntactically complex sentences. The effect of
modality of sentence presentation, of task, and of specific
syntactic structure, will be examined. The role of rehearsal in the
syntactic comprehension process will also be explored.
